Congratulations on your Retirement, John. Thanks for the 35 Years of Infinite Drive!

Today, I joined the Plug Power team to congratulate one of our longest-standing employees, John VanHeertum, on his retirement after 35 years of service.

John is one of Plug Power’s original employees, and his dedication dates back to 15-years with Mechanical Technology (MTI). John originally worked on Stirling engines for NASA during his first ten years, and has had his hand in Plug Power’s earliest fuel cell designs, including the first R&D automotive and residential systems, and commercial successes including GenCore, GenDrive, GenFuel, ground support equipment and range extender platforms.

One of Plug Power’s greatest characteristics is the diversity of our workforce; we have folks at all stages of their careers collaborating on a daily basis. This creates a wonderful inspiration-chamber for ideas. John has always led within our organization, because he knows it’s important to ask questions, and was never afraid to speak up and guide through teaching and curiosity.

I fundamentally believe that life is about people working hard – with integrity, treating fellow employees with respect, and fully committing to customers and the company. John has done all that, and more, over his years helping shape Plug Power.

On behalf of the Plug Power team, we thank John for his decades of loyalty, and wish him a happy and relaxing retirement. Congratulations!

#InfiniteDrive,
Andy Marsh
