Plug’s Georgia Green Hydrogen Plant Achieves Record-Breaking Month

September 2, 2025

At Plug, we’re building the world’s first end-to-end green hydrogen ecosystem, and we’re proving every day why being a first mover matters. Our Georgia green hydrogen plant has just closed out its best month ever across every key performance indicator, marking another milestone in Plug’s journey to deliver reliable, domestic, and scalable hydrogen production.

A Milestone Month of Performance

In August, the Georgia plant delivered record highs across every KPI:

  • Total Production: 324 metric tons
  • Uptime: 97.0%
  • Availability: 99.7% (excluding 2.7% downtime due to a power utility outage beyond our control)
  • Efficiency: 92.8%

Proving Green Hydrogen at Scale

By building and operating the largest green hydrogen plant in the U.S., Plug has not only delivered on production but also validated the strength of our own GenEco electrolyzer technology. Running our systems at scale proves to our GenEco electrolyzer customers that Plug can deliver high-performance products backed by real-world results.

Georgia’s record month underscores Plug’s leadership as the first company to build a commercial-scale green hydrogen network in the United States. With plants now operating in Georgia, Tennessee, and Louisiana, and more in development. Plug is proving that green hydrogen works at scale today.

“Our Georgia plant is running with greater consistency and strength every day,” said Andy Marsh, Plug CEO. “I want to congratulate and thank the team for their expertise and hard work in achieving these results. Plug is setting the path for the acceleration of the hydrogen economy, and this milestone is proof of the progress we’re delivering.”

This milestone is not just a win for Plug, but for our customers and the future of the hydrogen economy, and it’s only the beginning.
