Can GenCore® withstand temperature extremes?
GenCore systems are able to operate in temperatures between -40°C to 46°C. A small heater prevents temperatures inside the
system from dropping too low. The system will perform scheduled self-tests to ensure reliable operation.
Is hydrogen fuel easy to obtain?
Yes. In the U.S. alone, more than eight million tons of hydrogen are produced every year. Plug Power has a
hydrogen service agreement with Airgas, Inc., the largest U.S. distributor of industrial gases, with 1,200
distribution points and 2,400 trucks nationwide.
How can hydrogen be stored on-site?
Hydrogen is typically compressed and stored in metal gas storage cylinders. Plug Power offers a storage
cabinet that connects to GenCore and houses six cylinders of hydrogen, enough to provide up to 12 hours of backup power.
What certifications has the GenCore system received?
GenCore systems and Plug Power's hydrogen storage cabinet have been tested and industry-certified by UL, FCC, CE and
applicable BellCore standards to ensure safe operation under all types of extreme conditions – including brushfire,
gunfire, freezing temperatures and wind-driven rain.
